EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!

Like a proud father, I experienced my first earthquake today!!!! It was a nice little 5.4, with an epicenter ~92km NNW of me. At first I thought a co-worker was moving something heavy around, thinking it was odd that he was not making any noise. Then the shaking became so great, that suddenly it hit me, "EARTHQUAKE!!!" I had a grin plastered to my face for the next several hours. I was so excited I could not concentrate on my work for most of the day. Being on the 6th floor helped in my ability to feel it. I hope to be ready next time so I can try to pick out the different wave arrivals.

As Kristin said, I have now lost my earthquake virginity; I never thought the first time could feel so good!
